Musina is a name that is thought to be derived from the Sesotho, Venda and Tsonga word musina, meaning 'copper'. Established in 1904, the town was originally named Messina, but in 2002 the name was officially changed to its present form. (GPS coordinates: 22.372 S, 30.0399 E).
